Quality Inspector- 2nd Shift

Printpack Rigid is seeking candidates to fill a Quality Inspector Position in our Newport News Facility, on 2nd shift, reporting to the shift supervisor. The Quality inspector’s key responsibility is to Inspect, pack and label product.

2nd shift

Hours- 3pm to 11pm Monday- Friday

$17.20 an hour with $2.50 an hour shift differential from 7pm to 11pm

Main Responsibilities: 

• Ensure safety
• Model Printpack’s Core Values (https://www.printpack.com/core-values/)
• Inspect, pack and label products, visually detect small defects and classify them according to standard defects.
• Support 5S/ Lean Manufacturing/ PPS initiative

Required Qualifications 

• Ability to work night shift, as well as weekends, & Holiday’s if necessary
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. assisted
• Excellent time management skills
• Problem Solving skills
• Reading comprehension
• Ability to use computers (Microsoft Word, Excel, email)

Physical Requirements 

• Required to wear hearing protection, safety glasses, hairnet, uniform, and steel toed shoes
• Required to stand or walk for extended periods of time
• Bending, lifting, repetitive motion, walking, and squatting
