Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Station Headquarters at RAF High Wycombe. We are looking for an active and adaptable team player, to join our experienced and friendly team.
This role is responsible to Officer Commanding Station Support Services (OC SSF) and in turn Officer Commanding Base Support Squadron (OC BSS).
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description
- Secretary for station meetings including (but not exclusion to the Quarterly Management board, Community Support working group, Health & Well-being and Children and Young Peoples board).
- Responsible for administering and inputting JPA competence and qualification for mandatory training courses.
- Management and booking of all station classrooms, meeting rooms and conference facilities.
- Manage the station Fitness test clerical duties, including updating JPA, managing the DRTP register and regular contact with Serving Personnel.
- Create newsletter, bulletins and leaflets across all areas as required.
- Manage and co-ordinate all administrative tasks to support the delivery of Force Development activities including F540 inputs, post exercise reports and administrative order filing and compilation of force development statistics.
- Be an authorised ePC holder and have financial responsibility for booking and paying for Force Development activities on behalf of the Station training Officer.
- Co-Ordinate all stationary orders for station.
- Cover for the Station Commanders PA in their absence.
- Be a super user to enable updating of SharePoint sites.
- Undertake any other administrative duties appropriate to grade and role.
Person specification
We are looking for a self motivated and adaptable individual, who is able to multi task across all station business areas. The individual must have excellent communication skills, good time management, be able to prioritise their own workload and work autonomously at times. Experience working within a Customer facing environment would be an advantage.
The use of IT systems including SharePoint sites, MS Teams, O365 applications, social media platforms for day-to-day business will necessitate a good standard of IT literacy.
Working hours are between 0830-1700 dependent on the business needs. Application of the flexible working scheme needs to take this into account. This is an office based role.

The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
