The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and commissioning of Radio Access Network (RAN) equipment.
This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of telecommunications systems. The ideal candidate will work independently and efficiently, ensuring high-quality deployment and support of RAN infrastructure.Responsibilities:
Installation & Configuration:
Install and configure RAN equipment, including base stations, antennas, and associated hardware.
Perform system integration and ensure compatibility with existing network infrastructure.
Commissioning & Testing:
Conduct thorough testing and validation of installed RAN systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during the commissioning process.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of installation processes, configurations, and test results.
Prepare and submit comprehensive reports on project status, issues, and resolutions.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all installation and commissioning activities adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Follow industry best practices and company procedures to maintain high-quality standards.
Technical Support:
Provide on-site and remote technical support for RAN-related issues.
Assist with the development of technical documentation and training materials.
Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, field engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Communicate effectively with clients to address their needs and provide updates on project progress.
Qualifications:
Education:
Relevant qualifications or certifications in installation and commissioning or a related field. Practical experience can substitute for formal education.
Experience:
At least 3-5 years of experience in RAN installation and commissioning, preferably within the UK telecom sector.
Experience with RAN technologies such as LTE, 5G, and associated network equipment.
Skills:
Strong technical knowledge of RAN systems and network infrastructure.
Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving with RAN equipment.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Familiarity with relevant safety and regulatory standards
Certifications:
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Huawei, Nokia, Ericsson) are advantageous.
Additional Requirements:
Willingness to travel within the UK as required by project needs.
Ability to work flexible hours and respond to on-call support as needed.
