There really is something for everyone here.EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOWWorking within our Waste Network department as Team Manager (based out of Worcester/Gloucester region), you’ll be leading a diverse team of technical advisors and skilled site supervisors to repair our sewerage network through our contract partners. You will manage resources (people, assets, IT and finance) to meet regulatory and Company targets as well as customer expectations, delivering the highest standards of work for the lowest costs possible. As a Team Manager you will be responsible for the safety and development of your team ensuring they are fit for the future and the demanding area in which they operate. You’ll work proactively with all our internal and external stakeholders, including the Highways, DWI, Environment Agency, local communities and landowners.The role will include being part of a company standby rota which operates 24/7, 365 days a year as does our network. The role will include working across different regions or areas as required.Sound like you? Then read on.Some of your other key accountabilities will include:

  • Ensure that all Waste Network repair and maintenance work in your area of control is identified appropriately and delivered quickly through our supply chain partners to avoid customer disruption.
  • Expedite the delivery of any repairs where there is need to mitigate and ensure the mitigation process is tracked ensuring no repeat incidents until the repair is completed.
  • Travel across the region to be a visible leader within your teams at their various office locations and visible on site with our contract partners.
  • Complete audits, process quality and compliance checks and feedback on findings and develop improvement plans to the various teams you support and interact with.
  • Establish, manage and monitor H&S standards, processes, communications and training, ensuring safe systems of work are in place for all activities.
  • Manage the budget, including operational and capital expenditure and deliver and embed efficiencies.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLESome direct experience in managing, leading and inspiring teams in a customer-focused operational environment would be advantageous. A good understanding of the sewerage network and drainage repairs is required including civils, lining and patching operations with relevant experience a benefit. You’ll be expected to interact with customers and the general public to deliver a great customer experience, with flexibility to meet both the customer’s requirement and business requirements. Continuous development and improvement of the team is critical so the ability to understand and put in place plans that build the department through constant innovation and improvements is essential. A full UK driving license is required for the role.The right skills and experience are important.
