The New York Real Estate Group has a wide-ranging practice and we take pride in the impact of our work in the city and state we call home. We represent governmental, quasi-governmental, and not for profit organizations, as well as private entities and individuals in a broad variety of complex transactions. Our practice includes development, construction, not for profit corporations, land use, zoning, acquisitions/dispositions, leasing, lending, joint ventures (LLCs and partnerships), and real estate private equity. On a daily basis, our team provides clients with the bespoke transactional solutions that bring complex real estate projects to life.

The ideal candidate is a team-oriented, creative thinker who values variety, growth, and the challenge that novel legal issues present. The successful candidate is eager to establish a long-term career with us and increase their expertise across the full spectrum of transactional real estate work. Since our practice is broad, we do not expect candidates to have experience in all of our practice areas. Rather, we are looking for an associate with experience in more than one practice area listed above, including experience in basic transactions (such as purchase and sale transactions, leasing and/or mortgage loans) and matters including title and survey review, document drafting, legal research, and running closings. The qualified candidate has excellent oral and written communication skills, and an outstanding academic record. Experience in an AmLaw 100 firm or top-flight real estate boutique is strongly preferred.

Candidates must hold a juris doctorate degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to and in good standing with the New York bar. Submissions must include law school transcripts and an original writing sample that contains legal analysis.

The salary range for associate positions is $215,000 to $355,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of job-related factors including, but not limited to, years of related experience, level of education, skills, credentials and certifications, responsibilities and performance.
