Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (30-minute or 1-hour lunch break)

Friday, 8:45 AM – 12:00 PM

Position Overview: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Temporary Receptionist to cover vacation leave at a law firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing front desk operations, including answering and directing calls, greeting clients, and handling basic administrative tasks. This position does not require prior experience in a law firm, but punctuality and professionalism are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Morning Duties:

  • Unlock doors to common areas and turn off the office alarm.

  • Unload the dishwasher and set up the hot water kettle in the kitchen.

  • Reception Duties:

  • Answer and direct calls for building tenants, including managing phone services for other offices.

  • Greet and assist clients, ensuring they are directed to the appropriate meeting rooms.

  • Provide support to tenants with printing, copying, and other basic needs.

  • Handle moderately busy phone lines, including basic intake and routing of calls.

  • Administrative Tasks:

  • Scan and save documents in specific folders, with a focus on accuracy and organization.

  • Distribute incoming mail and perform basic attorney calendar reviews.

  • Evening Duties:

  • Load the dishwasher in the kitchen.

  • Lock the front office door and bottom office doors at the end of the day (note: you will not be the last to leave but will be the last to lock the front office door).

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Experience: No prior experience in a law firm is required.

  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Professionalism: Punctuality is crucial as you will be responsible for opening and closing the office each day.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively handle phone calls and client interactions.

Training:

  • You will work closely with the current receptionist on September 10th and 11th for training before managing the role independently until the end of the assignment.
