Job Description

I. JOB SUMMARY

The Record Integrity Supervisor oversees Document Imaging, Record Completion, Chart Completion, and Release of Information teams at LMH Health, ensuring compliance with departmental policies for health information processing. They enhance staff performance and job satisfaction by improving processes and productivity. The Supervisor conducts record integrity audits, communicates with physicians regarding documentation standards, and possesses knowledge of regulations and accreditation standards. Additionally, they manage staffing, schedules, and promote a customer-service-oriented environment for optimal service delivery.

II. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under the director of the Director- Health Information Management, assists with oversight and management of the Health Information Management Department, including document imaging, record analysis, chart completion, record audits, and release of information, while also supporting staff development, performance improvement, and maintaining adequate staffing levels.
  • Develops and implements staff quality and productivity reviews, provides performance feedback, manages new hire orientation and training, and ensures the team has the necessary tools and resources for effective work.
  • Proactively monitors Master Patient Index to ensure accuracy and resolves any reported issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with various departments and medical staff to resolve issues, enhance workflows, and ensure accurate documentation for efficient coding and record integrity.
  • Ensure positive and effective relationship with Vendor Support staff ensuring positive outcomes with efficient timeliness and accuracy.
  • Maintains routine communication with staff to inform of department operational updates and /or procedural changes. Communicates ideas, develops and implements policies and instructional guides, and initiates process improvement activities
  • Stays current with industry standards and initiatives.
  • Strong organization and communication skills and a commitment to quality and excellence in service are important components of the role.
  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

III. JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Associate’s Degree in Health Information Management or equivalent field of study
  • Minimum of three (3) office management experience or related supervisory experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years health care experience (in areas such as, but not limited to, release of information, document imaging, chart review/analysis, compliance)
  • RHIA or RHIT certification or in progress

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management or equivalent field of study
  • Preferred supervisory experience in a healthcare environment.
