Summary This position is in the Department of Justice (DOJ), National Security Division (NSD), Office of General Counsel, Records Management in Washington, D.C. The mission of the National Security Division (NSD) is to coordinate the Department’s efforts in carrying out its core mission of combating terrorism and protecting national security. The primary purpose of this position is to provide division-wide records and information management guidance and support to each office and section of the NSD. A GS-0308-12 Records and Information Management Specialist will perform duties such as but not limited to: Developing tools promoting effective coordination of the records management program. Conducting tests and evaluating database package tools with systems development teams and others including end users. Evaluating the efficacy of specific policy actions. Briefing, advising, and assisting all levels of management. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for the position of Records and Information Management Specialist at (GS-0308-12), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you’re applying to. If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the “required documents” section for additional information). To Qualify for the Records and Information Management Specialist GS-0308-12, your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Independently managing cradle to the grave governance of organization’s records; AND Providing assistance in records management administration to internal and external stakeholders You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including Time-in-Grade, by the closing date of this announcement, 12/26/2024.
