Location: Winchester, Virginia

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. or Monday – Thursday 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. (Depending on availability)

Salary: GS-6 $50,326.00-$65,425.00 GS-7 $55,924.00-$72,703.00

Full Performance level: GS -8

Mission Statement:

The mission of the FBI is to protect the American People and uphold the Constitution of the United States.

Major Duties:

  • The incumbent serves in an entry-level capacity supporting the Information Services Section (ISS) records scanning, conversion, storage, and retrieval operations, which address a wide variety of requests from Bureau and non-Bureau customers and which concern paper documents, electronic media, and evidentiary materials.
  • Responsible for the location, storage and retrieval of stored materials such as paper documents, electronic media, and evidentiary materials.
  • Responds to various types of requests for stored items from Bureau and non-Bureau customers; receives and logs requested items for further processing; receives and logs returned items, checks and verifies items, and ensures items are returned to their proper locations within Automated Storage and Retrieval System.
  • Under the direction of a Specialist or team leader, performs limited research and assessments to: review requests and project segments; obtain and compile needed details; identify and address routine issues/problems; develop suggestions and recommendations; report on results; and help with responses.

In addition to the above GS 7

  • Acts as a liaison on job-related matters with DocLab customers file assistance.
  • Works with specialized software and related equipment to help ensure that the features operate properly to perform scanning and conversion functions and meet related requirements.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Specialized Experience (SE):

GS-6: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

  • Skill in working with details to effectively: gather and track information from various sources, draw comparisons, develop suggestions/recommendations, assist in assessments, and generate useful products.
  • Skill in handling multiple priorities and working effectively under the pressure of rigid timeframes and tight deadlines to meet the demands of requests and broader matters.
  • Skill in writing and oral communication to: clarify, obtain, and/or convey information; make suggestions or recommendations; and provide assistance to others.

In addition to the above GS-7

  • Plans and performs DocLab scanning-conversion functions to meet the requirements of those serviced, recognizing the need for and taking action to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.

a. Percent of time worked in the particular position (cannot conflict with main duties)

b. The month/year work began

c. Frequency worked (i.e., daily, monthly, etc.)

d. Specific duties performed
