What is the team?

Reporting to the Regional On Train Manager, an exciting opportunity has arisen within the West Customer Services and Operations Team to deliver first class administrative support to the regional management team. In addition, this role will also provide administrative support to other members of the senior team and Head of On-Board team as required. This role is based at Exeter but there will be some travel around the GWR network and, in particular, throughout the West region.

What are the responsibilities of the role?

  • To take minutes/notes at meetings, hearings and investigations
  • Diary management
  • Preparation and presentation of data for key meetings
  • Letter writing
  • Ordering and managing supplies as required
  • Booking events
  • Electronic filing and maintenance of records
  • Ensuring that adherence to GDPR is maintained

What sort of person are you looking for?

We are looking for someone who is:

  • a “born organiser” – highly organised with the ability to prioritise their workload
  • detail conscious
  • adaptable and flexible in their approach
  • able to establish relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
  • IT literate.

What do I need?

  • previous administrative experience is essential and ideally PA experience in a fast-paced business
  • the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • a good level of competence in Microsoft applications
  • a positive and “can do” attitude to problem solving
  • experience of taking notes/minutes
  • the ability to cope with interruptions and remain calm, friendly and helpful even when under pressure.

Where is the job?

The role will be based within offices at Exeter St David’s station. 

What else do I need to know? 

This role is 35 hours per week.

The basic rate of pay is £33,480 per annum.
