The Need
For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50% and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Regional Recruitment Lead, Asia Pacific (4-month contract) to provide full-cycle recruitment support to our country offices in the APAC region.
This position can be based in Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok or Phnom Penh and reports to the Regional HR Business Partner, APAC and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand or Cambodia respectively.
Responsibilities
Proactive Sourcing
- Develop candidate pipeline through proactive sourcing using online (e.g. LinkedIn, Devex, other job sites) and offline channels (e.g. campus recruitment, networking events, etc.)
- Establishing connections, maintaining and leveraging a professional online and social media presence, and prospecting top talent through networking
- Working collaboratively with global, regional and country-level stakeholders to build and deliver on sourcing strategies and channels that focuses on diverse pipeline of candidates
- Maintaining accurate recruitment data and records in our applicant tracking system (ATS)
Recruitment
- Building effective relationships with hiring managers and key stakeholders to ensure timely and responsive recruitment and onboarding service is delivered to the highest standard
- Managing a recruitment cycle from end-to-end intake, provide input to job description development, job postings, identifying, screening, interviewing, offer package negotiation and onboarding
- Partnering with the hiring managers and country HR leads to continue to grow diversity and inclusion efforts
- Manage interview process to ensure all interviewers perform meaningful assessments in a professional, fair and equitable manner
- Advises hiring managers throughout the process of candidate interviews, debrief and offer negotiation for best organizational results on hires
- Advises and consults with key stakeholder to help keep internal equity within teams
Capacity Building
- Keeping up to date on labor market trends and INGO sector information, and related industry, proactively providing APAC HR Community of Practice with insights and recommendations that will improve the quality of external hires
- Providing trusted advice to hiring managers by using diverse interviewing and assessment techniques to validate candidate experience and motivations to join IJM
- Contributing to process improvement projects and policy development/updating across Talent Acquisition and within the broader HR team
- Support implementation of Safer Recruitment module in all country offices in APAC
Onboarding
- Ensure effective and timely onboarding and orientation of new hires/employees
- Collaborate with Global Recruiting team to ensure global onboarding standards are kept up to date, well disseminated and adopted in all country offices in APAC
- Organize and execute regional orientation programs
General
- Perform additional task and/or lead special assignments/tasks as delegated by immediate supervisor
- Provide accurate and prompt recruitment-related reports
- Oversee proper management of interns and fellows in the APAC region
Qualifications:
- Degree in HR, Business, or related field
- At least 5 years of related job experience as HR Generalist/Administrator/Coordinator and/or Talent Acquisition Professional
- Understanding of employment laws across APAC, preferred
- Knowledge and experience of working on MS Office effectively
- Flair in communication and influencing stakeholders (written and oral)
- Excellent Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

IJM holds strict safeguarding principles and a zero tolerance to violations of the Safeguarding Policy, Protection against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment Policy, and Code of Ethics.
