Location: Mapaville, MO 63065
Duration: 12 Months with possible extension
Shift: 08:15 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday to Friday
Pay Rate Range: $45 to $50/hour.
Role & Responsibilities:

• A School Nurse in Mapaville provides healthcare services to students and staff, ensuring a healthy and safe school environment, and promoting wellness. This includes assessing health needs, providing first aid and medical care, administering medications, and collaborating with various stakeholders like parents and teachers. They also play a crucial role in health education, policy development, and emergency response.
• Assessing and treating student illnesses and injuries, administering medications as needed, and providing first aid.
• Educating students, parents, and staff on healthy habits, disease prevention, and proper hygiene.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date student health records, including immunization records and medication lists.
• Working with parents, teachers, administrators, and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized health plans and address student health needs.
• Implementing and enforcing school health policies, participating in health and safety committees, and addressing potential hazards.
• Offering guidance to students, parents, and staff on health-related issues, and facilitating referrals to appropriate healthcare providers when necessary.
• Responding to medical emergencies, providing appropriate care, and coordinating with emergency services when needed.

Required Skills:

• Pediatric and/or public health experience: Experience in working with children and in public health settings is often preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, teachers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Knowledge of pediatric health and developmental issues: Understanding the specific health needs of children at different developmental stages.
• Ability to handle high-stress situations: Calmly and effectively manage emergencies and other stressful situations.
• Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems: Managing student health information using technology.

License and Certification:

• Active RN License for the State of MO.
• Active BLS/CPR Certification .
