Connecting Research to Development (CRD) is a non-profit think tank that bridges research and development through innovative, evidence-based solutions. With a portfolio spanning the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe, CRD specializes in research, policy design, and program implementation across public health, social protection, and other critical sectors.
Position Overview
The Research and Program Officer will support the design, execution, and evaluation of research-driven programs within CRD’s portfolio. This role involves conducting research, managing program activities, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring programs are evidence-informed and impactful.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and Evidence Generation
- Design and implement qualitative and quantitative research studies, including development of tools and methodologies.
- Collect, analyse, and synthesize data to inform program design and decision-making.
- Produce research reports, policy briefs, and publications.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends and innovations in CRD’s focus areas.
- Program Development and Implementation
- Contribute to the design of program activities based on research findings and stakeholder needs.
- Manage day-to-day program implementation to ensure activities are delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinate, lead and supervise data collection operations, when needed.
- Organize and deliver training sessions for facilitators and data collectors, when needed.
- Support the integration of research findings into actionable program strategies.
- Track progress against program indicators and objectives.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination
- Work closely with government agencies, UN organizations, NGOs, and community partners.
- Represent CRD in meetings, workshops, and conferences.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in research and program implementation.
- Proven expertise in designing and conducting research studies.
- Experience working with donor-funded projects and diverse stakeholders.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in research tools and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, NVivo).
- Strong knowledge of program management methodologies.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with CRD’s focus areas, such as health systems strengthening, social protection, or capacity building.
- Experience in the MENA region or similar contexts.
- Multilingual abilities (e.g., Arabic, English, French).
