Background
- The Research Associate will provide support in analysing qualitative data for the USAID Feed the Future Nigeria Agricultural Extension & Advisory Services Activity annual survey for FY24.
- The project works to increase smallholder farmers’ productivity, incomes, and household nutrition status in Kebbi, Niger, Kaduna, Benue, Ebonyi, Cross-River, and Delta states of Nigeria through strengthening sustainable agricultural extension and advisory services.
- The project particularly focuses on aquaculture, cowpea, maize, rice, and soybean value chains.
Essential Responsibilities
- Support the training of moderators and transcribers in preparation for the qualitative data collection.
- Ensure data quality assurance throughout the data collection period by reviewing interview scripts and providing necessary feedback.
- Conduct analysis related to the study using relevant software such as Nvivo, Atlas etc.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- A bachelor’s degree in management, sociology/rural development, agricultural economics, economics or statistics.
Experience:
- S/he will have at least 5 years’ experience in qualitative research work (data collection, validation, entry, and analysis)
- Proficiency in the use of qualitative analytical software’s such as NVivo, Atlas etc.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, including ability to effectively communicate across cultures.
- Experience in the provision of technical support in agricultural, food security, livelihood, marketing, and economic growth.
- Good English language skills are essential.
