Job description
We are seeking a talented and motivated research scientist to join our team, led by Dr. Anna Pearson, to contribute to cutting-edge research in Compositional Intelligence (CI) and Quantum Natural Language Processing (QNLP). The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the conceptual design, training, and testing of QNLP experiments, as well as other emerging initiatives. The role also involves contributing to outreach activities to promote QNLP and related fields.Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the implementation team on the design, training, and testing of the DisCoCirc model for natural language processing on quantum hardware.
- Lead and support efforts to apply quantum computing techniques to compositional models of language.
- Engage in research and development for new and ongoing QNLP projects in collaboration with academic and industry partners.
- Contribute to outreach and dissemination efforts related to QNLP and the broader field of compositional intelligence.
- Participate in the writing of research papers, grant proposals, and presentations at conferences.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in experimental quantum physics, with a strong understanding of quantum hardware and algorithms.
- PhD in Physics or a closely related field.
- Proven experience in experimental quantum physics, with a strong understanding of quantum hardware and algorithms.
- In-depth knowledge of the DisCoCirc model and its applications in natural language processing.
- Strong foundation in string diagrams and category theory.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams and effectively communicate research outcomes.
- Experience with outreach activities in QNLP or related areas is highly desirable.
- PhD in Physics or a closely related field.
Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with real-world datasets for language processing tasks.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple research projects simultaneously.
