Agency Overview:
The Massachusetts House of Representatives (“House”) is comprised of 160 independently elected Members, each representing a district of approximately 43,954 people.
Position Overview:
The Researcher performs research related to matters that come before the Committee and works on constituent issues as needed in the district office as requested. They interact with legislators, constituents, administrative officials, and stakeholders to support the Committee legislative and the Chair’s priorities. They are responsible for research, letter and email writing, drafting legislation, communication, general administration and other duties as assigned.
Reports to:
Reports to the Chair of the Committee, the Office Chief of Staff and at the discretion of the Chair, the Staff Director.

Position Type:
This position operates in a professional office environment; you must be able to communicate both in person and by telephone. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, and multifunction copiers/printers.
Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time 37.5 hours per week position. Workdays are Monday through Friday in the Boston office. This is an office position; no remote working arrangements are available.
Occasionally you may need to travel to the District Office in Wilbraham and/or attend events in the district at the discretion of the Chair, Chief of Staff or Staff Director.
Hours vary and may include evening and weekend work to support the legislators’ constituents and to support legislative or constituent activities.
