RN – Emergency Department (ED) Transition Program – February 2026 – 252005182

Description

Join the Scripps Health team and work alongside passionate caregivers and provide patient-centered healthcare. Receive endless appreciation while you build a rewarding career with one of the most respected healthcare organizations nationwide.

The Scripps Health Emergency Nursing Transition Program facilitates the transition of experienced RNs and New Grads with varied clinical backgrounds to an advanced beginner Emergency (ED/ER) Nurse. During the program, trainees are supported as they develop knowledge and skills to care for the challenging and varied population of patients that seek care in the Emergency Department setting. The classroom portion is system-wide. Positions and clinical training are site-based.

The program utilizes four teaching modalities:

  • eLearning – Scripps specific modules and modules based on the Emergency Nursing Association core curriculum
  • Lectures that generalize the didactic to the bedside
  • Hands-on skills and simulation learning
  • Clinical orientation with trained preceptors in the Emergency Departments across the system

At the end of the program, trainees will transition to a full-time position on their unit. Additionally, trainees should expect to work the night shift on their unit after the completion of the program unless otherwise specified by the hiring leader.

Core Program Dates: February 9, 2026 – May 2, 2026

Program dates will be expanded for New Grad RNs: January 26, 2026 – June 13/July 11 – 2026 (varies depending on location)

Application Period: October 12, 2025 – October 18, 2025

Interview Period: October 27, 2025 – November 21, 2025
