QIAGEN’s UK & Ireland Sales team are based throughout the UK, working from home offices and travelling to support customers within different geographic regions. Our team work with Clinical Diagnostics and Life Sciences customers to facilitate a customer-centric service and provide them with Sample to Insight solutions. We are now looking for a Sales Manager to lead the Sales Team within the South East UK region.Reporting to the UK and Ireland General Manager the position holder will be directly responsible for the day to day management of the regional sales team. This will include monitoring and tracking team performance, supporting the responsible Account Managers to achieve their budgets and objectives, team coaching and development.The successful applicant will manage a team composed of four Account Managers, one Field Application Specialist and one Inside Sales representative empowered to sell the complete QIAGEN portfolio of products into a variety of customer sectors including Academia, Hospitals, Clinics, Private laboratories, Commercial Partners, Forensics, Biotech and Pharma. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and coach, are key qualities needed to be successful in this role.Key responsibilities:– Support the team to develop effective territory plans to drive sales activities.– Achieve/ exceed budget by growing the sales of QIAGEN products in the UK South East region market.– Monitor and manage the sales process using KPIs. Provide regular feedback in one to ones with team members and support them with structured improvement plans if needed.– Enable employee development as a key priority, motivating the team through coaching and mentoring to advance their skill level, and importantly providing them with opportunities to develop their individual careers further.Position Requirements– Strong scientific background. Minimum Bachelor of Science, PhD or equivalent laboratory experience advantageous.– Significant field sales and sales management experience with a demonstrable understanding of business practice in the Life Science and Clinical Diagnostic industries and knowledge of relevant markets. Ideally with experience of handling complex sales and selling capital equipment.
