The Role
We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Lead Developer to drive the development, configuration, and delivery of Salesforce solutions across client engagements. This role will serve as a senior technical expert providing hands on development leadership and implementation guidance across Salesforce products including Health Cloud, Service Cloud, Nonprofit Cloud, and Marketing Cloud.
The Lead Developer will evaluate technical requirements, build scalable solutions, and guide development teams to ensure solutions align with healthcare payer operations and business goals.
Work You’ll Do
- Lead development of Salesforce solutions leveraging Health Cloud, Service Cloud, and Marketing Cloud within a healthcare payer context
- Build and configure custom solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and APIs
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions
- Collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, and leadership to deliver solutions aligned with project objectives
- Provide technical leadership to development teams including code reviews, troubleshooting, and enforcing best practices
- Lead and participate in technical design sessions contributing to solution architecture decisions and supporting the creation of solution design documents, data models and integration architecture diagrams
- Support integrations between Salesforce and enterprise systems such as claims platforms and EHRs
- Ensure adherence to Salesforce development standards, governance practices, and deployment processes
- Assist with technical discovery and current–state system assessments
- Support end-to-end Salesforce implementations including build, testing, deployment, and optimization phases
- Partner with client stakeholders and internal teams to resolve technical challenges and deliver high quality solutions
- Contribute to technical documentation, release planning, and implementation strategies
- Support business development efforts through technical input, estimates, and solution feasibility feedback
- Contribute to the growth of AArete’s Salesforce practice
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce platform experience including senior or lead developer responsibilities
- Strong expertise in multi-cloud implementations (Health Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud)
- Deep experience with:
- Apex
- Lightning Web Components
- Flows and automation tools
- APIs including REST and SOAP
- OmniStudio
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce data modeling, sharing rules, and security best practices
- Experience implementing integrations including middleware, ETL, and event-based solutions. Mulesoft preferred
- Experience with DevOps and CI CD tools such as DevOps Center, Git, Copado, or Gearset
- Proven experience building enterprise scale Salesforce solutions in healthcare or payer environments
- Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile delivery frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and optimize platform performance
- Experience contributing to large scale Salesforce implementations
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non–technical stakeholders
- Willingness to engage in direct client interaction including travel if needed
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
Preferred Requirements
- Salesforce Platform Developer II or equivalent advanced certifications
- Salesforce Certified Health Cloud Consultant
- Experience integrating Salesforce with claims systems, EHRs, or other healthcare platforms
- Experience supporting enterprise Salesforce implementations or platform transformation initiatives
- Based in Chicago, IL and flexible to work from our Chicago office as needed

The estimated base salary range for this position is $125,000 – $150,000. In addition to this base salary, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. This range is a part of a competitive, total compensation package together with our majority employer-paid benefits and incentive pay for eligible roles. Please note that this range is a guideline, and individual total compensation may vary due to numerous factors, including but not limited to experience level, certifications, and other relevant business considerations.
