Job Description: SAP Analytics and Reporting Consultant (Customer Engagement)
Overview
Customer is seeking a highly skilled and motivated SAP Analytics and Reporting Consultant for a critical engagement starting immediately. This role is split into two phases: an initial, intensive knowledge transfer phase followed by a three-month (minimum) on-site engagement at our Parsippany, NJ headquarters.
The consultant will first absorb complex data model and reporting knowledge from the outgoing expert and then transition into a key operational role, serving as the primary IT point-of-contact for all reporting and analytics needs within the Customer organization.
Knowledge Transfer and Transition (Immediate Start – 1-2 Weeks)
The primary objective is to rapidly acquire detailed technical and functional knowledge of Customer’s current reporting landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Model Deep Dive: Receive and document comprehensive knowledge transfer on the setup, architecture, and configuration of data models within SAP Datasphere (formerly DWC).
- Reporting Layer Understanding: Gain expertise on how the Datasphere models are consumed and the visualization logic is implemented in Power BI.
- SAP S/4HANA Analytics: Understand the configuration and design of Embedded Analytics components, specifically the use of Core Data Services (CDS) Views for transactional and analytical reporting in S/4HANA.
- Location/Timing: Preferred in-person knowledge transfer at Parsippany, NJ,
On-Site Analytics Point of Contact (3 Months Minimum – Nov. 2025 – Jan. 2026, Extension Likely)
The consultant will operate as the dedicated IT resource for reporting/analytics, based full-time at the Customer Parsippany, NJ office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting Requirements Gathering: Serve as the central point of contact for Customer business users and leaders, proactively collecting, documenting, and prioritizing new reporting and analytics requirements.
- Partner Coordination: Coordinate directly with internal and external development/implementation partners to translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure timely, accurate report delivery.
- Report Delivery & UAT: Oversee the end-to-end delivery lifecycle of reports, including quality assurance and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Adoption and Training: Work closely with business leaders to drive the adoption of new reporting tools and dashboards, potentially conducting end-user training and developing necessary documentation.
- Operational Support: Provide first-level support and maintenance for existing reports and analytical tools (Datasphere, Power BI, S/4HANA Embedded Analytics).
- Strategic Alignment: Act as a key liaison between the business and the IT department, ensuring the analytics roadmap aligns with Customer’s strategic goals.
