The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Performs clerical and receptionist functions for the unit, in accordance with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital policies and procedures, answers inquiries of a general nature by nursing staff, physicians, patients and families, and carries out principles of positive guest relations.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school diploma
• At least one year of administrative and secretarial experience in a healthcare facility or doctor’s office clerical experience setting
• Computer efficacy is highly required

Preferred:

• Direct knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge in hospital EMR systems
• Excellent secretarial skills including: written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal relations

Scheduling Requirement:

• Shift- 8:30am – 4:30pm
• Monday -Friday
• Full Time/Day

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates good communication and customer service skills as they relate to the patient population served
• Answers telephones, enters prescribed data into computer systems, and performs general clerical work
• Must be able to enter data and retrieve data from the hospital information system
• Registers Radiation Oncology patients
• Calls in results to physicians and nursing homes
• Schedules appointments
• Scans requisitions
• Performs additional tasks as requested
