Job Responsibilities

• Facilitate lesson plan instructions to students, including 1:1 and small group provides input and helps facilitate social and emotional learning components of lesson plans.
• Develop and issue educational content including notes, tests, and assignments.
• Supervise classes to ensure all students are learning in a safe and productive environment.
• Organize supplies and resources for lectures and presentations.
• Deliver personalized instruction to each student by encouraging interactive learning.
• Plan and implement educational activities and events.
• Presenting lessons in a comprehensive manner and use visual/audio means to facilitate learning.
• Providing individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning.
• Creating and distributing educational content.
• Ensure classroom is clean and orderly.
• Allocate and grade homework, assignments, and tests.
• Responsible for observing, implementing, monitoring and completing specific reports regarding student performance and behaviors in the classroom.
• Responsible for providing pre-crisis intervention and conflict resolution with student, including implementing and using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) principles and approved behavior modification techniques/strategies.
• This position will comply with all federal, state and local laws and regulations, including those of NYS Office of Children and Family Services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule & Compensation:

• Schedule – (Monday to Friday 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM – year round)
• Compensation – $75,000 to $90,000 per year depending on experience, education, and skills.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of (1) year of practical teaching experience. Middle school & high school teaching experience, required.
• Bachelor’s degree and a valid NYS teaching certificate required, or an equivalent teaching certificate obtained through a NYS-approved pathway that leads to a master’s degree in education and permanent certification.
• Teaching experience in a High School Alternative School Setting, highly preferred.
• Proficient knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
• Must have a valid driver’s license. Ability to travel if needed.
