Under the direction of the Head and Neck clinical nurse and SPD Technician, this position performs repetitive, less complicated level technician duties utilizing specialized knowledge acquired through training.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in setup for specialized procedures performed by the Head & Neck Surgeons, Speech-Language Pathologists, and/or Survivorship Nurse Practitioner
- Performing daily upkeep and ensuring that the equipment used for Head and Neck cancer procedures and high-level disinfection is operational and functional for daily clinic use
- Coordinating care to assure appropriate use of clinic time and resources
- Ordering instrument inventory and supplies
- Collecting and preparing data/images/videos obtained from endoscopy for the licensed provider to determine the plan of care for patients
- Other related duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from college with a major in an applicable natural science; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge and abilities essential to successfully perform the duties assigned to the position.

BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

Previous clinic experience and medical terminology.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High-level disinfection/instrument processing. Care of Rhino-Laryngeal Videoscopes.
- Outpatient Oncology Clinic Experience.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $79,762 – $79,762 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $38.20 – $38.20
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
