Job Overview:

This position will cover be primarily in PT/OT/ but will also provide coverage in Speech/Audiology and Cardiac Rehab as needed. Secretary will answers phones courteously and in a timely fashion. take all intake information from the patient prior to contacting insurance company and prior to scheduling initial evaluation, ensure that pre-certifications are obtained for all patients, coordinate and facilitate the registration and scheduling process, ensure the timely registration of all patients, and obtain adequate financial information from the patient or his/her representative to secure payment for services rendered.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Experience with scheduling in EPIC

Preferred:

• High School Diploma

Scheduling Requirements:

• Day Shift
• Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm

Essential Functions:

• Complete appropriate and accurate on-site registration for each patient prior to or at the time of appointment
• Maintains the schedule for the clinicians in order to best accommodate the patients and staff to provide optimum treatment with minimum wait time between sessions
• Obtains the proper medical and insurance information and schedules initial evaluations
• Assists patient in developing a treatment schedule based on the recommendation of the Therapist and the physician s prescription
• Collects co-pays from patients as needed at time of service
• Has thorough knowledge of EPIC
• Performs these functions in absence of an Office coordinator
• Calls insurance companies to obtain necessary authorizations for physical therapy evaluation and treatment
• Verifies the need for pre-certifications, pre-authorizations and referrals
• Informs the patient and assists in obtaining as needed
• Obtains the name of the insurance representative and a reference number for the call
