Job Description
As a Security Officer – Armed Patrol Specialist in North Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as education, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and respond to situations with calm, professional communication. This role requires an Armed Guard Card or License and offers a chance to deliver supportive customer service while working with a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, a people-first culture, and integrity.

What You’ll Do:
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
- Monitor and document security-related activity, including observing for suspicious behavior, unsecured doors, and unusual conditions, and report concerns through established channels.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus leadership and/or public responders as needed.
- Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and shift documentation, and communicate key updates during shift briefings and/or post orders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a DD214 with Honorable Discharge or an Associates Degree or 60 college credits or a Police Academy Certificate or a Corrections Academy Certificate.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
