Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Security Technician to join our team supporting the US Capitol Police. The Security Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and monitoring of physical and network security systems, ensuring the safety and protection of the organization’s assets, data, and personnel. This role involves configuring and maintaining surveillance systems, access control systems, call stations, public address systems, and other security technologies.


Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

    Technical knowledge of various security systems and devices, including alarms, cameras, and access control systems, public address systems, and other security technologies.
  • Proficiency in system testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues promptly and accurately.
  • experience in reading and understanding complex electrical and security system blueprints and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to efficiently diagnose and repair system malfunctions.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical issues and provide clear instructions to clients.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate installation and maintenance of security equipment.
  • Physical fitness and manual dexterity to handle tools and climb ladders when necessary.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.


Qualifications

  • US Citizen and active Top Secret clearance.
  • A bachelor’s degree with no additional experience.
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, can have an associate’s degree plus 2 years of experience or a high school diploma and 4 years of experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work a regular schedule at the Washington DC locations.
  • A team player with a customer-oriented approach.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifteen (15) pounds.
  • Fine hand manipulation (keyboarding).
