SEMH Tutor Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised tutoring in Functional Skills (Maths, English, ICT) and GCSE subjects to students with SEMH needs.
  • Support students in building their academic confidence, emotional resilience, and personal growth.
  • Adapt your teaching strategies to suit the unique learning styles and needs of each student.
  • Monitor student progress, set clear goals, and provide constructive feedback to both students and families.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and school staff to ensure a supportive and consistent learning environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A passionate SEMH Tutor supporting students with SEMH needs and a commitment to pursuing a teaching career.
  • Experience in tutoring (preferably in Functional Skills and GCSE subjects) is beneficial, but not essential.
  • A strong desire to develop your teaching skills and learn effective strategies for SEMH support.
  • An empathetic, patient, and proactive approach with a genuine drive to help students achieve their potential.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset in working with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Ideally located in Bedford or able to easily commute to the area.
