Senior Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking for a detail-oriented and highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for complex accounting activities relating to the maintenance of ledger accounts, the development of associated managerial reports and financial statements, preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, assisting with month-end close and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, be able to work independently, and possess excellent communication skills.

What you will have the opportunity to do:

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare and post entries to general ledger accounts and to document business transactions.
• Perform and review general ledger functions to assist with monthly accounting activity and closings.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to general ledger and may review and approve monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and review bank reconciliations and may perform other banking activities, such as letters of credit or collateral for specified accounts.
• Proactively detect, research, and resolve reconciliation items.
• Analyze and document revenue and expenditure trends and variances in account balances between periods and against budget.
• Prepare various schedules required for internal and external reporting on a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), statutory, and management reporting basis.
• Prepare financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, budgets and footnote schedules.
• Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels and ensure expenditure control.
• Work with both internal and external clients to respond to inquiries and resolve issues.
• Interact with and assist internal and external auditors, as necessary, to complete audits.

Skills and experience needed to succeed in the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting.
• Experience completing month end close, reconciling the general ledger and accounting for variances.
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

For candidates working in person in Los Angeles, the reasonable pay range for this specific position is $80,600 to $121,000 per year. The salary offered for this specific position is based on a number of legitimate, nondiscriminatory factors set by the Company.
