Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will join our bioassay team in In Vitro Pharmacology group at Amgen British Columbia. The site is a research centre of excellence specializing in biologics discovery.You’ll be part of a dedicated bioassay team specializing in the development and optimization of cell-based assays tailored to support high-throughput screening and characterization of therapeutic antibody candidates. Your contributions will directly impact the identification of molecules with the potential to help patients worldwide.This position is ideal for a scientifically curious, detail-oriented, and highly collaborative professional eager to advance their technical skills and contribute to meaningful work in a team-oriented research environment.This is a contract, on-site laboratory-based role and successful candidates must reside in the Greater Vancouver area.Essential Functions:

• Design and execute robust cell-based assays to support therapeutic antibody discovery, ensuring high levels of precision, accuracy, and reproducibility.
• Conduct mammalian cell culture and apply standard bioanalytical techniques, including ELISA and flow cytometry.
• Operate and maintain essential laboratory instrumentation, such as multimode plate readers, imaging systems, flow cytometers, and automated liquid handling systems.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data with keen attention to detail, and effectively communicate findings through presentations and written reports.
• Ensure thorough documentation of all experiments and results, supporting data reporting requirements for internal use and regulatory submissions as needed.

• Master’s degree in related field, or Bachelor’s degree in related field plus 2-3 years of relevant hands-on research experience
• Fluent in English, both in written and oral communications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong background in assay development and screening for therapeutic antibody candidates.
• Experience with cell-based bioassays such as:
• Cytokine release assays
• Cell activation and proliferation assays
• Phosphorylation and reporter assays
• Hands-on experience working with primary human cells in assay contexts.
• Proficiency in operating advanced lab instrumentation (ex. plate readers, liquid handlers)
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced lab environments.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a proactive and flexible approach.
• Maintain rigorous documentation and data reporting practices to support regulatory and internal quality standards.
