Position Overview
Ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of processes pertaining to the creation and management of Product Level, Studio Digital Assets.
This includes two primary functions:
- Supporting day-to-day studio digital capture process in person, which might entail trouble shooting technical issues such as a computer not connecting to the internet, or questions about asset naming. These tasks are self-assigned by taking part in studio scheduling meetings and ad-hoc requests in studio.
- Responsible for post-photography digital asset management which includes completing all the JIRA digital asset management tasks in a timely manner. This includes publishes, unpublishes, renames, repurposes, image swaps, validating asset descriptions etc. These tasks are assigned by others, with tracking in Jira.
This person understands the creative process, understands the technical file naming and photography trouble shooting, and has enough knowledge of the products to assist styling coordinators with some of their business process question regarding PIM (complete the look for example).
They will be required to perform some physical work such as computer setups, digital cart builds, packing digital EQ for location and helping with occasional set builds.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensuring every Capture Cart is ready for each day, ensuring the shoot guides are available to the On Figure Digital Techs
- Ensuring the Still Life Photography team Capture Stations are set up
- May be called upon to be on set to support as a digital tech 1-2 days a week or to setup new processes
- Completing all Daily Asset Management Tasks and all Ad-Hoc Asset requests at product level
- Includes renames, repurposes, publish/unpublish, reselects, conversions, submissions, etc.
- Ensuring all sets submit files at end of day and validating on following days
- Sourcing new Digital Techs and training Full Time Digital Techs
- Supporting any advertising or mid-tier shoots that happen in the RL studio as needed.
- Prioritizing digital equipment buys with EQ Coordinator
- Implementing and teaching best practices on set for color and capture
- Coordinating digital set changes (swapping computers, cart setup etc.)
- Presence on site and able to escalate to Production or Sample Coordination team leads if there are issues
- Host weekly TBs with Art Direction, Digital Operations and Photography teams
- Align on upcoming shoots with photo studio production team
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
- Role is required to be in office at the Studio in Long Island City 5 days/week
- Fluent in Capture One, Photoshop and Mac computers and has experience as a digital technician on set
- Quick to troubleshoot technical issues and remain composed when multiple issues are happening
- Clear communicator and never afraid to ask questions
- Self starter and takes initiative for problems needing solving
- Able to spot problem patterns and call out as well as make suggestions for solutions
- Organized with file storage and especially working on multiple tasks at once
