At team Xbox, we’re on a mission to bring the joy and community of gaming to everyone on the planet. We’re looking for a Senior Communications Manager, Xbox to lead integrated storytelling for the Minecraft franchise. In this role, you will drive creative storytelling campaigns that elevate Minecraft as a gaming and entertainment franchise, reaching new and diverse audiences. You will be responsible for expanding our storytelling efforts to bring new fans and new players into the franchise. Having a pulse on cultural trends and knowing how to insert a brand like Minecraft into pop culture conversations – both with press and with content creators/influencers – will be valuable. We’re looking for a media-savvy professional with relationships across traditional media (consumer, lifestyle, entertainment press) and new media (content creators/influencers). The ideal candidate is a collaborative partner who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. They are a self-starter that isn’t afraid to try new things and take calculated risks. They embody a learn-it-all mentality, embrace ambiguity, and act with a bias for action. ResponsibilitiesLead franchise storytelling campaigns that elevate Minecraft as a gaming and entertainment franchise.Drive communications strategy and execution for reaching new and diverse audiences, with a focus on consumer press and variety content creators/influencers.Provide strategic counsel to executives, marketing, franchise development, and other cross-functional teams to shape our brand narrative.Help manage agency of record as integral members of our extended team.Help protect the Microsoft, Xbox, and Minecraft brands by identifying and mitigating reputation risk.
