Senior Consultant – Built Environment

Support Control Risks built environment and infrastructure security advisory offering including development and completion of deliverables and services to existing clients, opportunity origination, and conversion of new business opportunities. The role will also support the delivery of resilience consulting across the range of operational security, crisis management, business continuity, and security subject matter engagements.

The successful applicant will be a part of our Saudi Arabia based team, supporting clients in KSA and across region as part of our broader EMEA team of over 100 crisis and security consultants.

Requirements

Role tasks and responsibilities

  • Undertaking fee earning consultancy, including but not limited to built environment security consulting, security master planning, operational security management, crisis management planning, security risk assessments (site/project/supply-chain/business), security policy and planning consultancy, benchmarking and maturity assessments, security risk workshops, and applying relevant built environment risk management knowledge, tools, standards, and processes
  • Contribution and leadership of built environment security and risk consulting projects in Saudi Arabia to ensure compliance with Control Risks polices, standards, and methodologies as well as drawing on international leading practices
  • Client liaison, as a trusted advisor for Control Risks in order to develop client relationships across the full breadth of capabilities
  • Ensure requests from clients and prospects are dealt with effectively and efficiently
  • Originate business opportunities with potential clients and lead proposal creation and project budget build-ups prior to sign-off by designated managers
  • Provide accurate information on pipeline activity to managers
  • Operational planning and management of engagements, including quality oversight of operational and document-based deliverables and compliance with Control Risks policies, standards and methodologies
  • Adopt innovative approaches to development of current practices and new solutions
  • Apply security and risk management technical understanding and expertise within the built environment to achieve client outcomes

Role requirements:

  • Understanding of Control Risks capabilities and client outcomes
  • Understanding of the real estate and critical infrastructure security through the entire value chain and project lifecycle
  • Demonstrated involvement in the development of risk-based security interventions and integration with planning and design of new developments
  • Demonstrated ability to create high-quality graphically led deliverables to effectively communicate security solutions
  • Experience of delivering consultancy-based engagements
  • Experience with opportunity origination, project budgeting, opportunity capture, project management, and project closure processes to assist in the financial management of projects
  • Experience delivering security risk assessments and development of security strategies using urban planning and design solutions, physical security interventions, and technical security measures
  • Knowledge and experience in critical infrastructure protection including international, regional, and local KSA requirements, standards, and practices
  • Exposure to, or delivery of, built environment security consulting, operational security management consulting, crisis management planning, training and response, security risk assessments (site/project/supply-chain/business), security policy and planning consultancy, business continuity planning and management, benchmarking and maturity assessments, risk workshops, intrusion testing, maritime consulting, event security
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Must have experience working with urban planning, urban design, architecture, and engineering disciplines to incorporate physical and technical security solutions for new developments
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to use graphical software and tools such as InDesign, Sketchup, Illustrator, and other tools
  • Ability to liaise with and build successful client relationships
  • Ability to quickly assimilate large quantities of new information, draw logical conclusions, and provide strategic, operational, and tactical consulting solutions and advice to clients
  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in risk management or related security, crisis and/or business continuity fields
  • Degrees or professional education in Urban Planning, Urban Design, or Architecture are desirable
