About the Role

FTI Consulting Construction, Projects & Assets (“CP&A”) is a leading global provider of dispute and advisory services on complex projects across all construction and engineering industries including Power & Utilities, Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Mining, Manufacturing, Transportation, High-Tech/Semi-Conductor, Infrastructure, Real Estate & Industrial Sectors.

Our professionals represent top talent across disciplines, including engineers, architects, accountants, quantity surveyors, planning and scheduling specialists, cost engineers, project managers, technologists, and strategic communications professionals.

We are seeking professionals with experience in one or more of the following areas: project management, construction management, project controls advisory services, construction contracts administration and/or procurement, capital budgeting and construction cost estimating, construction contract auditing and/or project auditing, financial modeling, scheduling and schedule analysis, claims and litigation advisory services, and dispute resolution.

What You’ll Do

A Senior Consultant will work as part of a team to assist clients with dispute resolution and project advisory services. 

Tasks may include: 

  • Providing support to subject matter experts within a range of industries during design, construction, and maintenance stages of complex capital projects
  • Communicating strategy, work product and overall results to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Performing detailed delay analyses, review schedule logic and advise on schedule changes for large capital projects
  • Supporting the preparation and review of construction claims demonstrating proficiency in interpreting and commenting on relevant contract and legal provisions
  • Performing assessments on differing site conditions, design changes and labor productivity analyses showcasing specific construction knowledge of individual sectors and forums (e.g., LRT, wind energy, hospitals, etc.)
  • Preparing clear and concise client facing materials that demonstrate a thorough understanding of the subject matter and articulating an argument using easily understood graphics and descriptions
  • Assessing cost damages on a range of projects and developing project specific financial models and tools as required
  • Attending industry events to develop a network and deepen industry knowledge
  • Mentoring, coaching, and training CP&A consultants and interns, and supervising activities and performance

What You Will Need To Succeed 

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management, Economics, Statistics or in a related field
  • Three or more (3+) years of relevant post-graduate professional experience in management or technology consulting, capital projects & infrastructure, asset management, construction management, information technology (IT) or a related profession
  • Possesses advanced Excel skills to aggregate, model, and manage large data sets
  • Proficient in developing professional work products using PowerPoint and Word
  • Ability to travel to client sites and FTI offices as needed

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Industry experience in oil and gas, manufacturing, chemicals, mining, power and utilities, data centers, fab facilities, or infrastructure
  • Experience with project management information systems: Procore; Aconex / Aconex Connected Cost; Primavera P6 EPPM or Oracle Unifier
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Ability to mentor junior team members, as well as lead small engagement teams
  • Able to manage multiple projects with potentially conflicting priorities simultaneously
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills – an analytical, innovative, and creative mindset
