Our client is a well-known company and a leader in its sector. Its team of Lawyers is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel who can work in a dynamic environment. The team provides legal support in corporate matters, securities and disclosure compliance, and financing.On a day-to-day basis, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of mandates involving corporate secretarial activities, securities compliance, corporate governance and public company financing.This employer offers a competitive salary, a full range of benefits, including a flexible hybrid schedule and the opportunity to join a dynamic, professional team.YOUR ROLE:
- Preparation of documents for the Board of Directors;
- Handle various corporate governance, securities and corporate law compliance, disclosure and transactional matters;
- Inform the organization on corporate governance trends and legislative changes in securities and corporate law, including ESG developments;
- Draft and revise various corporate public disclosure documents and policies;
- Support the preparation of the annual shareholders’ meeting;
- Support the financing team on legal aspects;
- Support management in the interpretation and negotiation of contracts.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Admission to the Bar of one of the provinces of Canada;
- Three to five years’ relevant experience acquired in private practice and/or within a public company;
- Fluency in both French and English;
- Ability to understand complex legal issues.
