Duties
- Serves as a Subject Matter Expert and Technical Expert researching, reviewing, analyzing and reporting of Vendor Maintenance activity and Special Projects in the financial accounting system.
- Develops and maintains appropriate financial records and documentation of vendor processes and procedures.
- Executes, plans, projects and prepare reports as required in support of the efficient and effective recording of transactions. Provide technical advice and guidance to staff in the Section.
- Researches, reviews and inputs required financial information from source documents into assigned financial systems within specified timeframes, reconciling any differences; confirms data integrity and consistency for the processing and reporting of vendor/1099 transactions.
- Reviews daily and monthly vendor data and information by sharing financial and procedural information with staff in the section and other areas in the corporation to ensure seamless flow of communication and timely and effective problem resolution affecting corporate operations.
- Develops and implements recommendations approved by the Supervisor for purposes of enhancing the formation and administration of policies, programs, and plans for purposes of improving the function.
- Analyzes operating procedures to identify areas of potential non-compliance; explains discrepancies; and provides authoritative policy interpretations to ensure modification of existing operations to comply with regulations. Meets with supported organizations to develop corrective measures, explain policy, policy intent, reporting requirements, and new or proposed regulatory changes.

Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience utilizing 1099 tax reporting requirements in analyzing and solving accounting/financial problems; applying conventional financial operations policies and procedures to provide advice, coordination of system design, and modifications to Vendor Maintenance systems.
Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.

There is no substitution of education for the experience for this position.
Additional information
Selectee(s) for this position will be required to report to their duty station office two days per week.
If selected, you may be required to serve a probationary period.
