Senior Gender Equality & Rights Consultant (Finnish Speaker) – Finland Development Policy Evaluation

About the role
We are seeking an experienced gender equality and rights specialist with Finnish language skills to join a evaluation synthesis team examining Finland’s global support to women and girls’ rights. This is a part-time consultancy role running from February/March 2025 to May/June 2025 (with possible extension to August 2025).
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Conduct systematic analysis of evaluation reports on Finland’s development cooperation related to gender equality and women’s rights (2015-2025)
- Contribute to synthesis of qualitative and quantitative evidence on results, successes and challenges
- Support testing and provide feedback on new AI-assisted search tools for evaluation analysis
- Help identify knowledge gaps and areas for future evaluation
- Participate in validation meetings and preparation of deliverables
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure high-quality outputs within timeline
Person Specification
Qualification and experience:
- Advanced degree in Gender Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences or related field
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in gender equality and women’s rights in international development
- Strong expertise in systematic reviews, meta-analysis, and qualitative research synthesis
- Demonstrated understanding of intersectional approaches including disability inclusion
- Experience with Finland’s development cooperation policies and human rights-based approaches
- Previous work on development evaluations highly desirable
- Native/professional Finnish language skills and excellent English writing ability
