position Summary
Reporting to the Director, Grants Management of the Division of Cardiology, the Senior Grants Financial Analyst is responsible for the financial and administrative management of sponsored research awards from the time of award through closeout. This role ensures compliance with sponsor requirements, institutional policies, and applicable regulations while providing highquality support to principal investigators (PIs), department leadership, and central research administration offices. The position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring expenditures, preparing reports, and supporting audits.
Responsibilities
The Senior Grants Financial Analyst is responsible for the comprehensive post-award management of a portfolio of sponsored grants and contracts and will:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field plus at least four years of progressively responsible financial experience in a large, complex organization-preferably within a healthcare or university research environment or equivalent in education and experience.
Other Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with complex financial systems, models, and methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct detailed financial analysis in a research administration setting.
- Ability to research and prepare comprehensive financial reports, plan and evaluate financial programs, and build effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, data warehouse and reporting tools, and query/report generation.
- Must successfully complete applicable compliance and systems training requirements.
