We deliver inclusive, market-based solutions across several technical areas: agriculture and food security, water security, sanitation and hygiene (WSSH), private sector development, governance, and climate and resilience.
DevWorks is recruiting for a Senior Grants Specialist for the Feed the Future Bangladesh Sustainable Aquaculture Activity. The Activity aims to enhance inclusive and sustainable aquaculture sector growth in Bangladesh through a market system approach to improve rural household income and nutrition.
The Senior Grants Specialist will oversee the Activity’s Grants under Contract (GUCs) funds. Their duties will include managing overall grant efforts, managing the grant proposals process, optimizing the grant administration process, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, and managing grant databases. Major tasks and responsibilities include:
- Leading the creation of a project-specific grants manual.
- Managing the grants process, including advertising calls for applications, leading interviews, conducting background and reference checks and/or other due diligence, and collaborating with the technical team to decide on grantees.
- Ensuring transparent, fair, and inclusive processes for grants design, selection, and administration.
- Working closely with the technical team to provide training and support to grantees as needed and ensure grant terms are met.
- Coordinating with the finance team to review reimbursement requests, payments, and other finance-related terms with grantees throughout the grant period.
- Ensuring grant processes follow USAID’s and DevWorks’ policies and coordinating as needed with USAID during approval processes.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing grants on a USAID-funded project in Bangladesh.
- Demonstrated experience working with a multi-layered technical team and incorporating grant decisions into other deliverables.
- Prior experience in the agriculture sector (ideally including aquaculture).
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English required.
