ICF seeks an experienced professional to serve as a Senior Lead, Sustainable Aviation for our US Aviation Business Development area. This position is 100% Remote in the United States, with travel required.

About the Role

The position will be responsible for leading and growing our sustainable aviation service lines in the US market. You will help shape and manage ICF’s offering in the marketplace, identifying and prioritizing target accounts, collecting competitive intelligence and managing capture and proposal processes. Maintaining personal relationships with current and future clients will be crucial to your success. You will bring together experts from across ICF, including our wealth of sustainable aviation experience in Europe, our US-based aviation network and expertise and our biofuels and renewable energy teams in the US, among others, to develop complex, multi-faceted solutions for some of the industry’s most complex challenges.

Compensation: While the range below is broader, this position will offer a salary range in the 120-180K range, based upon % match to job description, location, etc., as determined by the hiring team. Higher education and experience will not change this salary range.

About our Sustainable Aviation Team

Our experts are dedicated to helping clients develop the technologies, organizations, and policies needed to decarbonize the aviation industry. We advise investors, airlines, airports, regulators, and trade bodies to navigate the complex, evolving challenges to decarbonize and ensure the environmentally sustainable development of aviation. Our projects include:

• Design and evaluation of policies.

• Development of effective sustainability strategies.

• Due diligence in investments.

• Supporting the implementation of sustainability initiatives.

Our clients include many of the companies leading the transition – and many others seeking to accelerate their journey to more sustainable operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Consulting Delivery:

• Take on senior project roles (Project Manager / Director)

• Structure and manage assignments, including outlining and drafting key deliverables, defining analyses, directing teams of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and taking full responsibility for delivering client-ready final work product;

• Participate as a member of a consulting team on client projects, which typically include research & analysis, formulating recommendations, developing, and implementing solutions;

• Develop necessary tools, templates and other IP to sell and deliver assignments;

• Take responsibility for client satisfaction, including follow-up and continuous improvement.

Business Development and Thought Leadership:

• Leverage existing client relationships with North American airlines, manufacturers, airports, investors and the aviation community at large to augment ICF business development activities and provide solutions;

• Form new business relationships with industry stakeholders to grow ICF’s Sustainable Aviation business;

• Define and follow disciplined account development processes, participating in pipeline strategy, account strategy and capture management process;

• Structure and draft proposals, including written materials, pricing and presentations; practice for and win shortlist interviews;

• Develop successful marketing partnership to amplify impact on the market;

• Develop strategies to advance ICF’s capabilities and IP in sustainability, including advanced data analytics and integration of new data sources;

• Speak regularly at industry events and in the relevant media; maintain a profile on LinkedIn that supports ICF’s business development objectives.

People Leadership:

• Serve as a senior figure in ICF’s ATT division, projecting ICF’s values, culture and expectations;

• Help build a team of junior and mid-level staff (upskilling existing consultants + recruitment);

• Take responsibility for mentoring, training and developing junior- and mid-level staff;

• Support implementation of Aviation and ICF strategic objectives.

MUST HAVE Qualifications:

• 12+ years demonstrated experience in aviation and/or strategic consultancy.

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Economics, Business, Mathematics, Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.

• 5+ years demonstrated experience of a deep understanding of sustainability in aviation, including Sustainable Aviation Fuels.

• 5+ years of experience managing and developing junior/mid-level staff members with strong interpersonal relationship building skills.

• 3+ years of experience with quantitative model development and analysis.

• Ability and willingness to travel (flight/vehicle) as required for business needs.

Preferred Qualifications: (These will set candidates apart)

• Experience in external-facing roles at airlines, lessors and manufacturers is a plus

• Public profile as thought leader is a plus

Pay Range – There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$143,663.00 – $244,227.00
