SENIOR MANAGER, BUSINESS OPERATIONS

Background
Farsight Africa Group is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Senior Manager of Business Operations to oversee and optimize its operational frameworks. As a leading management consultancy specializing in fragile and transitional environments, Farsight provides innovative solutions that enable development organizations and public sector entities to achieve operational excellence. This role drives efficient processes, ensures strategic alignment, and fosters a collaborative organizational culture.
Objective
To provide operational leadership, implement efficient and integrated processes, and ensure the seamless execution of administrative, financial, and procedural activities. The role will support Farsight’s growth strategy while enhancing its ability to deliver impactful and sustainable results in complex contexts.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Strategy and Optimization
• Establish and refine daily operational activities, ensuring alignment with revenue, cost, and margin goals.
• Lead efforts to enhance efficiency through integrated processes and common management services.
• Oversee operations reviews, focusing on cost structures, productivity metrics, and delivery methods to achieve strategic targets.
Financial and Strategic Oversight
• Manage budgets effectively, ensuring financial goals are consistently met.
• Support the development and implementation of systems to track progress on strategic plan execution.
Policy Development and Compliance
• Participate in the design and improvement of operational policies and processes across various departments.
• Ensure compliance with quality management standards, legal requirements, and organizational values.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
• Facilitate regular engagements with department heads to align operational objectives and achieve results.
• Implement tactical HR initiatives, including team management, goal-setting, and performance evaluations.
Advisory and Stakeholder Engagement
• Advise senior management on planning issues and recommend data-driven business decisions.
• Act as a key liaison between senior leadership and employees to ensure operational alignment.

Qualifications and Experience
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
Experience:
• Extensive experience in a senior leadership role within a global organization, preferably in operational management.
• Minimum of 5 years of management experience at a similar firm, running operations and driving strategic outcomes.
• Proven expertise in strategic planning, business operations, and managing cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets effectively and lead performance improvements.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong leadership and financial acumen coupled with strategic business intellect.
• Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in big data analysis and performance metrics, with a solid understanding of core business functions like HR, Finance, and Marketing.
• Ability to thrive under pressure, manage workload effectively, and inspire teams to achieve a unified vision.
