What we do:

VAT is now a global tax – from Europe to the Middle East and beyond. More than 160 countries in the world operate some form of VAT system. PwC’s Indirect Tax team is market leading, providing advisory, operational and compliance services to PwC’s largest and most important clients. We support clients in moving their products & services through their global supply chains. As such our clients expect us to have a global perspective and advise them on their global VAT footprint created by their business. Legislation and case law are being developed globally including at a local and European level so it is a rapidly changing environment. As a result of these developments, global policy updates are also an important part of how we work with clients and provide the opportunity to consider the wider indirect tax implications for business of these policy changes.

What does this role offer:

You will gain comprehensive experience across a range of VAT services including; high-end VAT advisory and consulting services, tax authority interventions and Revenue audit defence, VAT function optimisation through the application of technology solutions, and compliance services to Irish financial institutions, investment funds, PLC’s, major multinational corporations, semi-State organisations and a variety of significant privately-owned Irish companies.

As Indirect Tax Senior Manager, you will work as part of a team of VAT Consulting professionals, problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Our team is fueled by curious minds who work together to provide innovative solutions to navigate challenges, both locally and globally. As a member of the team you’ll apply your tax technical and commercial skills as you lead workstreams and build relationships with global leaders in indirect tax, both within PwC and with our extensive client book. 

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coach and train team members and drive the team to make a difference and deliver results in a responsible, authentic and passionate manner.
  • Bring business knowledge, innovation and insights to create value for clients and the firm.
  • Embrace the digital transformation being undertaken in our business. Being motivated to familiarise yourself with these evolutions and to drive these technologies further in our day-to-day business and that of our clients.
  • Set the tone in promoting risk management, financial management and compliance procedures for multiple engagements.
  • Operate and collaborate effectively with a mindset that transcends geographic and cultural boundaries.
  • Work on attracting, developing and retaining the best talents for the firm.
  • Directing and driving the success of multiple engagements.

About you – Key skills and competencies:

  • Strong academic record with a Degree in accounting, economics, finance, or law.
  • 8+ years experience in VAT technical consulting and advisory.
  • Ideally AITI/CTA qualified or qualified by experience.
  • Expert at directing and driving the success of multiple engagements.
  • Business Acumen – use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current trends in the market and utilise this information to assist your clients in making smart and innovative business decisions.
  • Relationship management – ability to read situations and modify behaviour to build quality, diverse relationships.
  • Creative – demonstrate an ability to contribute to new ideas and propose innovative solutions to problems.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Enthusiastic team player and manager with a passion to coach and encourage others to achieve their potential.
  • Ambitious – demonstrate strong commitment to personal learning and development.
