We’re looking for a remote Senior Manager, Medical/Scientific Conference in the medical conference and events industry.Our client is a global leader in professional conference and event management, delivering high-impact experiences for international associations and organizations. With nearly 50 years in the industry, they specialize in large-scale medical conventions and tradeshows, offering a remote-first, flexible work environment and a culture built on trust, collaboration, and innovation. The Senior Manager, Project & Operations will be responsible for leading the end-to-end planning and execution of high-profile conferences, with a strong emphasis on events in the medical and healthcare sectors.“Candidates must be based in Western Canada”Senior Manager, Medical/Scientific Conference responsibilities:
• Oversee all phases of conference planning and delivery for events with 1,000+ delegates
• Lead client relationships, ensuring high levels of service, responsiveness, and satisfaction
• Manage budgets exceeding $500,000 CAD and ensure financial success of assigned events
• Develop and manage project timelines, team deliverables, and operational milestones
• Negotiate with venues, suppliers, and contractors to secure favorable terms
• Lead cross-functional internal and client teams to ensure event success
• Provide strategic input and solutions throughout the project lifecycleThe successful candidate has:
• A minimum of 3 years of experience managing large-scale association or medical conferences
• Post-secondary education in business, marketing, event management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Direct experience with medical conferences, CME programs, or healthcare-related tradeshows
• Demonstrated success managing large conference budgets and logistics
• Exceptional client service skills, with the ability to communicate across cultures and manage multiple stakeholders
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilitiesCompensation and benefits:
• The discussed salary range is $75,000 – $85,000 depending on experience
