Senior Medical Director – Prostate Cancer

The Senior Medical Director – Prostate Cancer will serve as the medical lead for the prostate cancer brand team and the North American launch. This leader will shape and execute the medical strategy, ensure alignment with clinical development and commercial functions, and drive impactful scientific and medical engagement with healthcare professionals and key external stakeholders. The role combines strategic leadership, scientific expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to lead medical efforts for product launch, ensure appropriate therapy use, optimize patient outcomes, and support successful lifecycle management of the brand.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm

• Medical Strategy & Leadership:
  • Lead the development and execution of integrated medical affairs strategy and tactical plans for prostate cancer product launch.
  • Provide medical leadership and strategic input to cross-functional launch and brand planning, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Build strong partnerships with key cross-functional stakeholders, including Clinical Development, Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory, and Communications, to drive launch success.
  • Serve as the primary medical point of contact for prostate cancer internally and externally. Scientific & Clinical Expertise
• Scientific & Clinical Expertise:
  • Act as a subject matter expert in prostate cancer, maintaining deep knowledge of the evolving scientific and clinical landscape.
  • Partner with Clinical Development, Regulatory, and R&D colleagues to support evidence generation and lifecycle management strategies.
  • Oversee medical strategy and programs to support product launch, including publication planning, congress strategy, and key data dissemination.
• External Engagement & Insights:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with thought leaders, investigators, and medical societies.
  • Facilitate scientific exchange and collaboration with external experts to identify unmet needs and guide medical planning.
  • Gather and synthesize medical insights to inform strategy and future research.
• Team Leadership & Development:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing medical affairs team for the prostate cancer franchise.
  • Foster a culture of scientific excellence, collaboration, and compliance.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to medical directors and scientific advisors.
• Governance, Compliance & Operations:
  • Ensure all medical affairs activities comply with regulatory standards, corporate policies, and ethical principles.
  • Oversee budget planning and resource allocation for the prostate cancer medical team.
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to track the impact of medical strategies and activities.

• Advanced degree (MD, DO, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) required; medical oncology or uro-oncology experience preferred. Prostate cancer and/or nuclear medicine expertise and knowledge strongly
• desirable.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in medical affairs, clinical development, or related biopharmaceutical roles.
• Proven leadership experience, with success in building and leading medical teams.
• Demonstrated ability to design and execute impactful medical strategies.
• Strong track record of external engagement with key opinion leaders and professional societies.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to translate scientific knowledge into actionable plans.
• Uro-oncology product launch experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

• This position will work in typical office conditions with extensive time using personal computer equipment.
• May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time while performing duties.
• Close attention to detail required.
• Willingness to work in a team-based environment.
• The position deals with many deadlines. Due to the short turnaround time of deadlines and limited time, overtime, weekend work and holiday work is sometimes required.
• Ability to travel domestically and potentially Internationally as required.
