Senior Medical Science Liaison

ROLE SUMMARY:
Lucent Diagnostics, a Quanterix brand, is pioneering ultra-sensitive, blood-based biomarker testing for Alzheimer’s disease. Using Simoa Technology, we empower providers with earlier, more accurate detection, enabling better patient outcomes. We are committed to transforming Alzheimer’s detection and diagnosis through cutting edge biomarker testing. Our goal is to make highly sensitive, accessible blood tests the new standard of care, reducing reliance on invasive procedures. is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior MSL to join our Commercial team. This is a remote, field-facing role with primary responsibility for Medical Science Liaison (MSL) activities, with a focus on neurodegenerative disease and diagnostic biomarker testing. In addition to leading external scientific engagement, this individual will contribute to cross-functional initiatives, including market access and evidence strategy, as needed. This role is ideal for a senior MSL who thrives in a player-coach environment and wants to shape medical affairs strategy while remaining close to clinicians, data, and real-world implementation.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Serve as a trusted scientific resource to healthcare providers (HCPs), key opinion leaders (KOLs), and other stakeholders, providing high-quality scientific education on neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, and the evolving role of diagnostic biomarker testing
- Build, maintain, and deepen long-term relationships with KOLs, HCPs, and research leaders within the neurology community
- Contribute to external scientific education initiatives, including webinars, virtual programs, conference symposia, and other educational forums aimed at clinicians and researchers
- Maintain deep and current expertise in neurology diagnostics, including emerging clinical data, methodologies, guidelines, and evolving standards of care
- Conduct scientific follow-up discussions with clinicians, including interpretation and clinical context of diagnostic test results
- Partner closely with internal teams (commercial, diagnostics, clinical, and market access) to share scientific insights and relay field intelligence on clinician needs, adoption barriers, and emerging trends
- Maintain a strong understanding of diagnostic guidelines, recommendations, approvals, and the clinical utility of laboratory-developed tests in neurology and Alzheimer’s disease
- Identify and support collaboration opportunities with HCPs, investigators, and research partners
- Gather and synthesize insights from the field to inform medical affairs strategy, evidence generation priorities, and cross-functional decision-making
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives, including market access strategy, payer education support, and evidence generation planning, as appropriate
- Support key scientific and educational meetings, including lunch-and-learn and dinner programs, as needed
- Support sales training through scientific education, content development, and live training sessions, while maintaining clear medical-commercial boundaries
- Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with Lucent and Quanterix policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable laws
- Travel occasionally to meet with KOLs, HCPs, and internal teams (approximately 25%)
- Other duties as necessary
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent)
- 3-5 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison, preferably in diagnostics and/or neurology
- Demonstrated experience engaging and building relationships with KOLs and HCPs in neurology or closely related disease areas
- Ability to operate independently in the field while contributing strategic perspective within a cross-functional team
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong presentation skills, including development and delivery of high-quality PowerPoint materials
- Demonstrated ability to translate scientific insights into actionable medical strategy in collaboration with cross-functional partners
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving, growth-stage environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong scientific foundation in neurodegenerative disease, diagnostics, and clinical research
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in diagnostics, including FDA regulations and clinical research practices
EXPECTATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- This is a remote position within the United States.
- Field-based role with approximately 25% travel; proximity to a major U.S. airport is strongly preferred
