Job description

Transaction Banking department is responsible for the product ownership of Corporate and Financial institution client’s Trade Finance, Commodity Finance, Cash Management, E-banking product as well as Corporate client’s Account, Payment, Deposit, overdraft services. As a Senior Officer – Commodity Finance, you will be responsible for the assessment of each credit proposal. You will support credit decision making of the EMEA and Head Office Credit Committee and support sustainable and healthy business development at acceptable risks to the Bank. This is a full time permanent position.Key responsibilities

  • Market the Bank’s products and services related to the commodity business to clients
  • Prepare the necessary write ups for business proposals in conjunction with the relationship managers
  • Provide high level of customer service to clients
  • Visit new and existing clients where necessary with the relationship managers
  • Prepare reviews of credit proposals
  • Liaise with Risk Management, Legal and Financial Crime and Compliance departments to ensure prompt and effective delivery
  • Prepare research papers on the commodity business when requested
  • Assist in the preparation of reports that may be required for Anti Money Laundering (AML), Internal Audit and Compliance
  • Identify cross sell opportunities where ever relevant
  • Represent and attend events organised by the Bank and on behalf of the Bank
  • Structure and prepare proposals and pitches in response to client requests or Request for Proposal (RFP)
  • Prepare marketing and call reports for client visits, country visits or conference attendance

Requirements

  • Degree educated in Economics, Finance, Business, or Banking qualification
  • Solid experience in the Commodity sector or in Trade Finance
  • Sound understanding in all commodity related Trade Finance products.
  • LiBF Transaction Banking related certification is preferred
  • Understanding of UK Financial Services Regulatory framework (i.e. PRA Rulebook/FCA Handbook)
  • Marketing and sales skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication skills
