Your role in our mission…This Senior PR Officer role will play a crucial role in raising the profile of Marie Curie’s research, policy and campaigning work and our press office function. You will raise the profile of Marie Curie amongst key target audiences by developing and delivering projects that command media attention and coverage. You will work with the media to share policy commentary, campaigns and build our brand.You will work closely with the National PR Manager as well as teams and departments within Marie Curie to strengthen our national voice and influence thinking around end-of-life experience and drive policy change through targeted media strategies.This role will involve analysing complex and varied written material e.g. statistics, research and policy reports, legislation etc, turning them in to viable and engaging news stories.This is a great next move for someone with substantial skills in public relations at in-house or agency, particularly with experience supporting a press office/newsroom function.Additional Criteria for Success:

  • Substantial experience in public relations at in-house or agency supporting press office or newsroom function.
  • Experience of building strong relationships with key target journalists
  • Excellent knowledge of the media – print, broadcast and online.
  • Excellent understanding of digital and social media.
  • Strong project management skills and able to manage many projects at the same time while maintaining high-quality delivery.
  • Ability to analyse complex and varied written material e.g. statistics, research and policy reports, legislation etc, turning them into viable and engaging news stories

You will be expected to travel to our sites across the UK occasionally.For those within commutable distance to London, you will have the option of working flexibly between home and in our modern open plan HQ in Embassy Gardens.Application & Interview Process
