Join us as we build a knowledgeable and collaborative team that courageously changes how transit projects will be delivered.Our Ontario Line RSSOM Interface Management team is seeking a Senior Project Manager to manage the identification, development, and integration of the technical and program interface deliverables across the multiple contracts, disciplines, and work packages required to deliver capital projects. This role will call on experience and expertise gained from working within complex, multi-discipline rail design and construction projects and environments. Experience in project management for rail and transit systems will be highly regarded.Reporting to the Director, this role will be part of a team that will act as the glue holding a massive and complex program together. It also entails building relationships and engaging with a wide variety of experts from project delivery teams, schedulers, technical leads, property, commercial leads, access coordination teams, construction, design, third party developments, utilities, environment and other teams to ensure efficient collaboration and minimize program risk.What will I be doing?

  • Develops project strategies while providing overall administrative and technical leadership and oversight to multiple corridor project activities to ensure coordination of efforts and successful completion.
  • Plans, sets objectives, and controls activities during the design and construction phase of the project in conjunction with Managers and project teams.
  • Support the development of Systems Integration processes.
  • Facilitate and develop interfaces, requirements, and concepts.
  • Support and co-ordinate technical reviews of designs, plans, specifications, construction submittals, testing and commissioning documents, etc.
  • Support and work closely with the wider Systems Engineering team, including Systems Assurance, RAMS, and Operations & Maintenance.
  • Support the development and undertaking of Verification and Validation (V&V) processes.
  • Delivers presentations, attends meetings, and provides acts as ambassador for the organization and its initiatives.
  • Partners, and manages relationships with, internal cross-functional departments (e.g. rail operations, corridor delivery group, procurement) to ensure progression of project and seamless commissioning/ deployment into operational service.
  • Promotes a safe and healthy work environment; ensures project teams, contractors and trades comply with health, safety and environmental standards that meet or exceed legislated requirements.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

  • Completion of a degree in Applied Science, Engineering, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Demonstrates experience providing comprehensive engineering and project management services associated with the planning, design, and construction of transit facilities, station infrastructure, and related works. Previous experience includes leading a team of technical professionals.
  • Valid Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) license recognized by the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) an asset.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) credential is considered an asset.
  • INCOSE certification is considered an asset.
  • Theories, principles, and practices of civil and/or systems design and construction; skill and proficiency in broad phases of engineering application. Proficiency or experience with both is a strong asset.
  • Project management principles and practices, including budget and schedule controls, to lead and direct cross functional teams and consultants engaged in simultaneous projects.
  • Understanding of systems integration principles such as interface management and requirements management, including experience using tools such as DOORS NG, and familiarity with ISO15288 Standard would be considered an asset.
  • Experience working in large, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and lead initiatives on projects.
  • Adaptable to different project environments, good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly creative, out-of-the-box approach for problem-solving
