Job summary

Welcome to the Air Human Resources Team, we are an inclusive and dedicated organisation working hard to support Service personnel.

We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic and adaptable Administrator Officer with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our welcoming team with the Service Personnel and Personal Support Flight at RAF Wittering, Cambridgeshire.

This is a full-time role consisting of 37 hours per week.

Job description

  • Provide assistance and support to OC Service Discipline (SD) and SNCO SD for tri service discipline related matters including:
  • Administering the process for individuals appearing at civilian court appearances, and Court Martials and maintaining discipline records for RAF Wittering using the Joint Personnel Administration (JPA) IT programme.
  • Compiling and processing service discipline and administrative documentation for cases involving military personnel.
  • Processing and coordinating administrative action for RAF fitness test failures.
  • Processing discipline checks for Service personnel using JPA.
  • Processing medal applications.

Person specification

As the successful candidate you will support the Air Human Resources Team at RAF Wittering in the delivery of service discipline management at the Unit in order to enhance and sustain operational effectiveness. The duties will include the administration of disciplinary and administrative casework, along with honours and awards queries and submissions.

You will be happy working as part of a team, with excellent communication skills both written and oral, and understand the necessity to maintain confidentiality.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses. 

External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
