Summary of position Functions

This role involves operating and maintaining a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems such as hot water heating systems, compressed air systems, cooling towers, emergency generators, electrical distribution equipment, and fire suppression systems.

Essential Position Functions

Operate and maintain chiller and boiler plant systems, including boilers over 75 PSI and chillers up to 2000 tons.
Monitor and control building heating and cooling systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
Operate, inspect, and maintain emergency generators and electrical distribution systems.
Apply knowledge of the refrigeration cycle and heat transfer theory in daily plant operations.
Maintain and troubleshoot hot water heating systems and associated equipment.
Inspect, maintain, and repair compressed air systems.
Operate and perform routine maintenance on cooling towers.
Inspect and maintain wet and dry fire suppression systems to ensure proper functionality.
Lead and collaborate with team members while demonstrating strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats with staff, vendors, and management.
Work independently and make informed decisions without direct supervision.

education and Qualifications

3-5 years of Chiller and Boiler Plant operation experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Have a strong working knowledge of BMS (Building management system) and UMS (Utility management system) software such as INFOR, Facility Explorer, preventive maintenance program.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

NAPE (National Association of Power Engineers) certified or the ability to attain certification within the second year of employment.
EPA refrigerant recovery certified (universal) or the ability to attain certification within the second year of employment.
Safety training requirement should include but not limited to lock out tag out, confined space, fall protection, PPE, Hazmat chemical handling, first aid, CPR, and AED.
Valid drivers license.
