Shipping Coordinator

Summary

Milgard Windows & Doors is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Shipping Coordinator on Swing Shift to join our dynamic team at our Tacoma, WA manufacturing plant. You will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and timely shipment of our high-quality windows and doors to customers. In addition, you will coordinate shipments, prepare documentation, schedule pickups, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. You possess excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

The hourly compensation starts at $24.60. Plus, $2.00 shift differential. Monday through Friday starting at 3:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outgoing shipments, including scheduling pickups with carriers, preparing shipping documents (e.g., bills of lading, packing lists).
• Utilize our ERP/WMS system to process shipments, track inventory, and generate reports. ORACLE experience preferred.
• Communicate effectively with internal departments (e.g., production, sales, customer service) and external partners (e.g., carriers, customers) to ensure seamless delivery.
• Resolve shipping discrepancies, such as damaged goods, shortages, and incorrect shipments, promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
• Monitor shipping costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
• Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and safety procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving shipping-related issues.
• Assist with other logistics-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or relevant certification preferred.
• Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field with three years of experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Proficiency in using ERP/WMS systems, (ORACLE experience preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of shipping regulations and best practices.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
